2 and 3rd July: THE CHORISTERS
present MY SPIRIT SANG ALL DAY: A concert of English, French
and American choral songs celebrate life . The first half features
music of a more "Classical" nature with songs by the
English composers Gerald Finzi, Gustav Holst and John Ireland;
French composers Francis Poulenc and Darius Milhaud; and American
composer Eugene Butler. The second half: the celebration continues
with traditional songs and folksongs like Greensleeves, Yankee
Doodle, Shenandoah and Blues like White Shoes Blues. Starring
soloists Claris Chin and Eddy Chin, and conducted by Yap Cheng

CHICKEN CURRY & .. Directed by Charlene Rajendran and performed
by Mohd. Arifwaran, Jerrica Lai & Donovan Goh. Devised by
the director with the performers. "Have you ever seen a
play where the actors seem to be having so much fun that it's
a vicarious thrill just to watch them? ....the threesome who
tackled a truckload of teen issues including the universal and
desperate need for freedom from parental 'tyranny', inter-racial
relationships and self-discovery, sparkled with a boldness, vivacity

works of naive folk paintings by ordinary youngsters of a rural
community from the twin villages of Penestanan Kaja and Kelod
in Bali. A celebration of vibrant colour that has caught the

STILL ON!: AKU - 99 POTRET
DIRI at Galeri Petronas. An exhibition of self-portraits by selected
Malaysian artists. Explores the relevance of the "self-portrait"
genre within Malaysian visual art. A wide cross-section of genres,
media and age groups explore the visual landscape of the self.
Each artist contributed work especially executed for the exhibition,
which highlights the role of memory recording, expression and
interpretation through self-portraiture. Artist and art critic
J. Anu is the curator for this exhibition. Level 3, Kuala Lumpur

an ELECTRONICA TWIST: Alex Peters at Man's Cafe, Taman Tun. The

acoustic guitars accompanied by a Japanese drummer called Alesis
(he's a beginner). Music from Amir himself, The Eagles, Chris
