BIOGRAPHIES

JAMES LEE (Director, Producer, Writer): Originally trained as a graphic designer with a diploma from a local college. But was already a film buff from early days and a hardcore comics and manga fan. After three years as a designer for various companies, he somehow bumped into Actors Studio Theatre where he attend Joe Hasham's acting course; from then onwards everything changed.

Quit the designing job and went into the world of acting and theatre, but still hoping to do films. But with no formal training and experience in filming and video, he decided to concentrate on theatre where he worked backstage most of the time. During the years of theatre, did odd jobs (extras for shoots, waitering, cook, store assistant etc.) to pay the rent and bills.

Did a few experimental performances (Chicken Parts series) and directed Love Poems, a monologue by Jaeson Iskandar. Later acted in Expat Comes to Town and Box Of Delights. He was recently in Amir Muhammad’s Lips to Lips, the first role he got from auditioning; and then directed The Dumb Waiter under the Director's Workshop by Five Arts Centre and Actors Studio Theatre under the guidance of Krishen Jit and Joe Hasham. And now Snipers, his first DV feature.

Next he will be concentrating on Ah Beng Returns, his next full-length movie which will be shot with less than 5K. How? Well it's a matter of Style and Taste.…

Rina Tung (Art Director, 1st Assistant Director): A UM graduate in Arts, theatre and literature, at presents working as a lecturer in Nilai college teaching arts and literature. Also a former student of Krishen Jit and the stage manager for Dumb Waiter.Godzilla Tan (2nd Assistant Director, Grip, Stunt, Transportation): One of the owner of Take Three Productions, mainly doing stage managing, producing and lighting design works for stage plays and dance. Snipers is his first involvement in lighting a DV movie.

Jeffrey Loh (Boom and sound): A graduate from Akademi Filem Malaysia, now freelancing in video shoots for corporate videos and documetary. Other times he'll be lecturing in colleges on lighting and video shooting.Eric Kok (Music composer): A graduate form Akademi Seni Kebangsaan in music. Performs for hotels and shows, he also does jingles and gamelan performances. He also has performed in some theatre pieces like Trees and Four Men and a Woman.

Tan Eng Heng (Ah Loong): A graduate from Malaysia Institute of Arts in theatre studies. An actor and also a lighting designer for stage plays. Also one of the members of Take Three Productions. Did a Chinese version of Death of a Salesman recently.

Pang Khee Teik (Steve Tan): A graduate from LICT, a professional photographer for a lot of stage works, and works full-time as a writer for a web company. Snipers is his first time acting for a movie and also first time acting for a stage play in Dumb Waiter.

Huzir Sulaiman (Ismail): Well-known and prolific theatre writer, director and actor. Credits include Atomic Jaya, Lazy Hazy Crazy, Hip-Hopera, Those Four Sisters Fernandez, and Notes on Life Love & Painting. This is his second movie after Lips to Lips.
